It's time to fill out your Texas Homestead Exemption Forms!
A residence homestead exemption removes a portion of or the total amount of a property’s value from taxation for property tax purposes. Only a homeowner's principal residence qualifies if you owned and occupied the property on January 1st. You must file an application with the county appraisal district generally, no later than April 30th.
